In 2005, the Cherry Hill Schools came together for an event that would raise money for the Red Cross in an effort to help the victims of the Tsunami. That year, six schools (Carusi, Stockton, Kilmer, Knight, Woodcrest, and Cooper) and Malberg Administration came together to play the “First Annual Volley for Support” tournament at Carusi Middle School.
Since 2005, the “Volley for Support” event has grown in popularity and size, so much so that the venue for this event is now held at East High School. This will be the ninth year that every school in the Cherry Hill Township District fields a team from PreK-12.
At no other time during the year do all of our schools have a chance to come together as a community, as they do for Volley for Support. Parents, students, and staff of the Cherry Hill Schools all come out to help raise money for a different cause each year. In the past twelve years, this event has raised over $200,000 for causes such as Tsunami Relief, Cancer Research, Heart Disease, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Alzheimer’s Association, Wounded Warrior Project, Progeria Research, Miracle Field at Build Jake’s Place, National MP Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Camp No Worries, Camp Erin, and Devereux of New Jersey. Last year we raised $66,000 for Juvenile Diabetes Research Funding.
This year marks our 13th year. Proceeds from this years event will go to the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation’s signature program – Mothers Matter.
Thank you for your part in making this event such a success year after year!
