Emergency Assistance Grant Program

Sometimes, it takes just one unexpected expense to push a family already struggling to make ends meet into crisis. An overdue bill, an essential car repair, or an unexpected medical expense can quickly become overwhelming, leaving a mother with nowhere to turn.

Recognizing this urgent need, the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation (LRAF) established its Emergency Assistance Grant Program to provide immediate financial assistance to women facing desperate circumstances when other sources of help are unavailable.

Between 2010 and 2023, the Foundation helped over 150 women and families facing financial emergencies, providing a lifeline when they needed it most.
One of those women was Sabrina, a newly divorced mother of three who was doing everything she could to support her family. Despite working two jobs and putting in 12-hour days, she struggled to keep up with household expenses.

Then, unexpected car repairs and medical bills added to her financial burden, leaving her behind on critical payments and threatening her family’s stability.
That’s when the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation stepped in. LRAF provided $932 toward her rent and $156 to cover overdue childcare fees—helping Sabrina address two urgent needs and giving her some much-needed breathing room during an incredibly difficult time.

More Than Financial Assistance — A Reason to Hope

For women facing a financial crisis, timely assistance can mean more than paying a bill. It can help prevent a difficult situation from becoming even worse, provide stability for their children, and remind them that they are not alone.

Through its Emergency Assistance Grant Program, the Foundation has offered more than financial relief. It has offered compassion, reassurance, and hope when life takes an unexpected turn.
