Continuing a Cherished Mothers Matter Tradition

Carol Ann Gambone and daughter Elle continue a cherished Mothers Matter tradition.

Their recent visit to MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Hospital to deliver special “Comfort” gift bags to cancer patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy has a poignant meaning for them. Carol’s mom, Betty Bartkovsky, our longtime Mothers Matter Chairperson, passed away in 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was helped deliver the first “Comfort “gift bags to MD Anderson in 2013 and was an integral part of the Mothers Matter cancer project’s growth through the years. In addition to MD Anderson, Mothers Matter now partners with seven major cancer centers in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Lauren Rose Albert Foundation Mothers Matter volunteers assemble and distribute more than 4,000 custom gift bags a year to women facing difficult challenges.
