Mothers Matter volunteers distribute thousands of beautiful gift bags/baskets overflowing with women’s personal care and beauty products for Mother’s Day to day care centers, pediatric hospital wards and medical day care facilities, women’s shelters and agencies and facilities such as Memorial Veterans Homes, Cooper Hospital Pediatric, Trauma, Oncology and NICU Wards, Anna’s Angels, Kennedy Health Center, Ronald McDonald House, My Sisters Place and Mercy Hospice.
Area organizations and businesses such as the Beneficial Bank, Haddon Fortnightly END, Trinity Church Women, Kadar Orthodontics, Campbell Soup, Rowan College, Women’s Leadership, NAWBO and others, hold collection drives and spend wonderful days volunteering at Mothers Matter making gift bags. Additionally, Mothers Matter gets a huge boost from our partners, the Saints & Sinners to make sure we reach our goals every year – assembling and distributing between 2,000 and 2,500 beautiful gifts to brighten Mother’s Day for women in need.
Mothers Matter Core Committee members begin preparing for the Mother’s Day project in September with letters to schools and businesses about collection drives. In January, their volunteer commitments begin increasing from one day a week, building to 4 or 5 days a week in April.
