Mothers Matter 2014

Mothers Matter is the signature program of The Lauren Rose Albert Foundation (LRAF) that provides encouragement, hope and quality of life essentials to women facing difficult challenges with custom-made gift bags, emergency grants and “Suited for Work” clothing.

Since 2001 the all-volunteer Mothers Matter program grew from a Mother’s Day project providing gift baskets of personal care and beauty products to women’s shelters and inner city daycare centers to a community outreach program that includes the distribution of over 4,500 custom-made gift bags each year to hospitals, medical-pediatric facilities, nursing homes, women’s agencies, shelters and day care centers throughout southern New Jersey and in Philadelphia. Some year-round partners are Virtua-Fox Chase Cancer Program, MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Hospital, CHOP, Ronald McDonald House, Memorial Veterans Home and Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice.

Mothers Matter distinctive color-coordinated gift bags include a combination of women’s everyday and luxury toiletries, personal care and spa products as well as special needs items and our own pillows for “comfort” gift bags for cancer patients. Each gift bag bears the message that “ Mothers Matter”.

Mothers Matter also includes a Suited for Work initiative at its headquarters in Sewell, NJ that offers new or gently used work appropriate clothing for economically disadvantaged women.

A grant program for women with critical unmet financial needs is administered by the LRAF in association with Mothers Matter.
The LRAF is a 501 (c )(3) non-profit organization with no paid staff.
