More Than Just a Walk in the Park

Though our 9th annual 5K can certainly be a walk in the park, it is so much more!

It’s a walk/run to help local mothers in need.

It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year, and what literally keeps our doors open at the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation’s Mothers Matter headquarters in Sewell.

We rely on the proceeds of our 5K to continue to help women and families in desperate need of financial assistance when they have nowhere else to turn.

It’s also a fun family day for all ages. The event takes place on Sunday, October 20 at the beautiful Washington Lake Park in Sewell, which offers scenic trails for a brisk or leisurely walk for non-runners, and one of the best USATF-Certified courses for serious runners.

Our traditional opening flag ceremony is highly anticipated every year, and we’ll have a DJ providing ongoing entertainment throughout the day. We’ll have face-painting, a photo booth, refreshments, and – once again this year – our fabulous basket auction, “Raffle at the Run!” These lovely gift baskets are created by our Mothers Matter basket-producing experts who create 4,500 indulgent gift baskets every year for moms, grandmoms and caregivers who need a little sunshine in the lives.

Commemorative T-Shirts are guaranteed if you register by Sept. 20, 2019.

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers, and the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.

Please join us! Register here.

New this year: you can set up your own fundraising page!

If you can’t be there, please consider donating.

And if you’d like to be a sponsor, I would love to talk to you. Reach out to me here.

Thank you, and see you in October at the park!

With gratitude,
