The founder of a Washington Township-based charity was awarded a prestigious state volunteer leadership award last month, after being recognized for her work helping local women in need.

Susan Rose, founder of the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation headquartered on McClure Drive, was honored for her work at the 2014 New Jersey State Governor’s Jefferson Awards for Volunteer Leadership in Newark.
