Foundation Programs
The Foundation's Mission is reflected in its efforts to help others succeed and improve their lives
through humanitarian support, financial assistance, advocacy and educational
efforts.
Helping women in need is a primary concern; particularly in
areas of need where there is no government or agency help.
Mothers Matter
As the mother of three children, Lauren knew how important
she was to her family – and how important they were to her. She was a
wonderful mother; filling her children’s lives with sunshine and love. The
Foundation's Mothers Matter program is a tribute to a mother's love.
Mothers Matter Gift Baskets overflowing with women's
necessities such as bath, toiletry and health care products are distributed
on Mother's Day to women's shelters and day care centers for mothers,
grandmothers and caregivers, with the beautiful message that "Mothers
Matter". For many women, the Mothers Matter gift baskets are
their only Mother's Day gift, and for some -- the health care and beauty
products are truly luxuries.
The Mother's Day gift basket project is a community
effort. School children, Girl Scouts, local and county governments, business
and community organizations and agencies participate through collection
drives, contributions and volunteer support. In 2006, Mothers Matter
volunteers brightened the lives of 1,850 families with beautiful Mother's Day
gift baskets. Education

Safe Travel Initiative
Road
safety in this country and internationally is a prime concern.
The road accident in Morocco in which Lauren was killed was due to
unsafe driving conditions and substandard safety regulations.
The Foundation’s efforts in this country are directed towards women and
their children, promoting safe travel through a greater awareness of road
safety issues, car maintenance procedures and most importantly use of seat
belts and children’s car seats.
The Foundation distributes Safe Travel information for women that includes:
The Foundation supports safe travel for children through a partnership with
Safe Kids of Southern New Jersey.
The
Foundation works in conjunction with the Association for Safe International
Road Travel (ASIRT) to promote safe international road travel.
Road accidents are the leading cause of death and serious injury for
healthy Americans traveling abroad. The
Foundation is dedicated to promoting road safety through:
-
Creating
a greater awareness of the risk and precautions against the
hazards and unsafe road
conditions encountered in other countries.
-
Establishing uniform worldwide standards for transportation with
specific reference to mandatory seat belt installation in all
vehicles.
